|Description:||The Oracle DBA will be a key member of the IT team and will be responsible for administration, management, and support across multiple Oracle database environments and provide leadership/guidance to ensure continuous 24x7 operation and availability in support of business critical production application.|
|Duties:||The selected candidate will perform the following duties:|
•Responsible to ensure that the production database is available 99.9%
•Responsible for Disaster Recovery, failover
•Responsible for Database performance, monitoring, patching and upgrades
•Responsible for timeliness and completion on a daily basis of bulk loading procedures.
•Responsible for database management and data analysis
•Coordinate with vendors/Oracle support in critical database problem situations.
•Pro-actively assess and identify database server resource requirements and communicate needs to Management.
•Involved in maintenance, enhancement, designing of data dictionaries, physical and logical database models and performance tuning
•Responsible for database backup and recovery procedures, access security and database integrity, physical data storage design and data storage management
•Ensure that the data needs of the customer are being met and that data standards are followed
•Be involved in the gathering of requirements and technical discussions with Matrix customers and in internal users
•Create transactional data models to support on-line web application
•Document data lineage (Source-to-target mappings), dependencies, and calculations that can lead to an ETL design and implementation
•Identify and design views, Functions, packages and procedures as necessary
•Review, recommend and implement best practices for database performance, security
•Provide technical leadership to a small development team consisting of full time staff, contractors some of whom some work remotely
•Identify tuning opportunities, implement improvements and advise developers on SQL tuning options
•Assist in problem determination and resolution for complex system outages or chronic problems.
•Responsibility for database recovery from failure
•Prepares and presents architecture strategy and direction
|Qualifications:||Minimum 10 years of experience with 5+ years experience as hands-on Oracle 11g DBA on UNIX/Linux environments. |
Candidates must have strong complex database monitoring, maintaining, backup and recovery experience as well as experience with emerging technologies
•Strong production database support, maintenance, backup and recovery background
•Experience in Monitor and address database capacity and performance issues
•Experience in Disaster recovery
•Fully analyze performance issues in most critical Oracle database
•Experience in applying database Patches and upgrade databases
•Experience in monitoring Primary and standby database
•Experience in failover / switchover to standby or vice versa
•Skilled at database design, installation, migration, conversion
•Experience creating logical and physical data models using Erwin
•Experience in ETL design, implementation and monitoring
•Experience with designing database schemas on Oracle 11g
•Experience in PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, Views, Triggers, etc
•Strong experience in Unix/Linux and VM environment
•Must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
•Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server preferred
•Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
•Demonstrate prior experience in similar engagements
•2 years of experience writing complex SQL queries and performing data analysis
•Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
•Must have a commitment to get the job done and a sense of urgency to complete critical issues.
