IT Application Architect

|Description:||The position is for an Application Architect within the internal IT department, as part of the team responsible for the support and development of a client facing enterprise application. |
This role demands architectural level experience to lead the design, development, testing, deployment & maintenance of multi-tiered, scalable and high-availability web applications using Java / J2EE & related technologies.
|Duties:|| Review, recommend and implement best practices for applications running in a JBoss environment, related to n-tier architecture, design, configuration, optimization and performance tuning, load balancing, clustering and integration|
Design and implement applications for JBoss
Be involved in technical discussion with Matrix customers
Provide technical leadership to a small development team consisting of full time staff, contractors some of whom work remotely
Manage and interact with vendors and partners primarily Red Hat/JBoss, Parasoft, Oracle
Assist in problem determination and resolution for complex system outages or chronic problems.
Web Analytics and reporting we do not have this today and need it for the future.
Responsibility for project delivery
|Qualifications:|| Minimum 10 years of experience with 5+ years experience as hands-on engineer in industry standard middleware products and technology. |
Must have strong complex business application architecture and development experience as well as experience with emerging technologies.
A strong J2EE architectural background
Extensive experience in large-scale application (Matrixs eServices portal is business critical application used by 1000 concurrent users and has an SLA of 98% uptime) architecture, design, and development using major J2EE application servers (JBoss) and essential J2EE elements (EJB, Servlets/JSP, JCA, JMS, Hibernate, JPA, Spring, Eclipse)
Previous experience building J2EE solutions for JBoss
Must have experience leading, coaching and mentoring the development team in best practices, coding standards, application scalability and Disaster Recovery
Experience with JBoss SEAM, JSF, Facelets, Rich Faces, Ajax4JSF will be highly regarded
Strong experience in Unix/Linux and VM environment
Strong knowledge of RH/Jboss technology stack
Strong object oriented analysis and design experience
Experience with JBoss monitoring tool (or any other monitoring too) is a plus
Experience with XML, XSLT, Web Services is a plus
Experience with SSO, CDSSO technologies is a plus
Must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Prepares and presents architecture strategy and direction
